5. Aelian: Varia historia

At a late date Lycurgus of Sparta was the first to bring Homer’s poems to Hellas. He introduced them from Ionia, where he had been staying. Later Pisistratus put them together and produced the Iliad and Odyssey [ὕστερον δὲ Πεισίστρατος συναγαγῶν ἀπέφηνε τὴν Ἰλιάδα καὶ Ὀδύσσειαν].

6. Pausanias: Beschreibung Griechenlands

Between Aegeira and Pellene once stood a town, subject to the Sicyonians and called Donussa [Δονοῦσσα], which was laid waste by the Sicyonians; it is mentioned, they say, in a verse of Homer (5) that occurs in the list of those who accompanied Agamemnon: -

οἵ θ’ Ὑπερησίην τε καὶ αἰπεινὴν Δονόεσσαν.

And the men of Hyperesia und those of steep Donoessa.

They go on to say that when Peisistratus collected the poems of Homer, which were scattered and handed down by tradition, some in one place and some in another, then either he or one of his colleagues perverted the name through ignorance.

Dreimal war ich Tyrann, und dreimal hat des Erechtheus

Sieh, Peisistratos war ich, der Große im Rate, der Sammler

[ὃς τὸν Ὅμηρον
ἤθροισα σποράδην τὸ πρὶν ἀειδόμενον].
Denn er war unser, der Goldne, der Mitbürger unseres Volkes,
falls die Männer Athens Smyrna gegründet, die Stadt.

Das Ganze erscheint mir etwas unklar, aber Verse in die "Ilias" einzuschieben, um Athens Herrschaftsanspruch auf Salamis zu legitimieren, ist schon eine ausbaufähige Idee.
